Fixed Fees

Pleading Guilty in the Local Court:

The fixed fee for all work up to and including a full day in court is from:

• $2000 + GST for courts within Sydney Metropolitan Area
• $2200 + GST for courts within other NSW cities (such as Wollongong, Newcastle or Gosford)
• $2500 + GST and travel disbursements (if required) for courts in country NSW

We offer fixed rates if you decide that you want to plead ‘not guilty’ and fight the charges in the Local Court. Most minor offences, such as drug possession, can be dealt with in the Local Court.

Fixed fees for a day of hearing are from:

• $5000 + GST for courts within Sydney City and Metropolitan Area
• $5500 + GST for courts within other NSW cities (such as Wollongong, Newcastle or Gosford)
• $6000 + GST and travel disbursements (if required) for courts in country NSW

Where you believe that the sentence or penalty imposed by a lower court was too harsh, we can assist you in appealing your sentence to the District Court in what is known as a ‘severity appeal.’ The rates below include drafting and filing the appeal, as well as a full day in court for your appeal hearing.

Where the original sentence imposed was not full-time imprisonment, from:

• $3000 + GST for courts within Sydney
• $3500 + GST for courts within other NSW cities (such as Wollongong, Newcastle or Gosford)
• $4000 + GST and travel disbursements (if required) for courts in country NSW

Where the original sentence imposed was full-time imprisonment, from:

• $4000 + GST for courts within Sydney
• $4500 + GST for courts within other NSW cities (such as Wollongong, Newcastle or Gosford)
• $5000 + GST and travel disbursements (if required) for courts in country NSW

If you are in gaol and want to apply for bail, we can help you lodge a bail application. The rates below include all work and preparation, as well as a full day in court for your bail application. Fixed fees are from::

• $2500 + GST for courts within Sydney
• $3000 + GST for courts within other NSW cities (such as Wollongong, Newcastle or Gosford)
• $3500 + GST and travel disbursements (if required) for courts in country NSW

If your bail application has been refused by the Local or District Court, you may be able to appeal it to the Supreme Court. The rate includes all preparation, including any necessary prison visits, the initial court ‘callover’ date, and up to a full day in the Supreme Court for your bail hearing. All preparations and appearing in court for hearing of application, from:

• $5500 + GST

If you have a mental illness, such as depression or anxiety, we may be able to have your charges dismissed. The fixed-fee rate includes all preparations, including briefing a psychologist or psychiatrist, lodging you application and appearing in court at your initial court date and your hearing date. The fixed fee is from:

• $5000 + GST for courts within Sydney
• $6000 + GST and travel disbursements if required for courts outside Sydney

Some applications may be quite complex and may require further work – your lawyer will be able to advise if further fees apply.

If you are in prison, we can come to you to discuss your case. We travel to all correctional centres within NSW. Fixed fee rates are from:

• $600 + GST for correctional centres within Sydney (such as Long Bay, Silverwater, Parklea)
• $1000 + GST and travel disbursements (if required)for correctional centres more than 300km from Sydney (Junee, Goulburn, Lithgow etc)

If you have been arrested, we can attend the police station to advise and assist you. Fixed fees are from:

• $600 + GST for police stations within Sydney
• $800 + GST and travel disbursements (if required) for police stations outside Sydney
